![]() ![]() ![]() Even for portability, my 2012 MacBook Air has longer battery life, faster processing and transfer capability, and is smaller and lighter. If I didn't have a laptop already, and knew what I know now based on experience with the MPC, I'd get the laptop. It's very capable of doing almost everything you need it to without touching a computer, and I'm completely satisfied with it. I can't see any advantages over what a DAW can do, but if you want the thing, you probably understand who and what it's made for. It's really fun sitting on the couch with headphones and making a song. Still, I love the Live and it does feel like a full fledged instrument. I realize now that you can buy a computer, a DAW, and a midi keyboard that can do all of the things the live can do and more (and possibly do those things better). I've used a computer a lot so far, and I'm learning Ableton to use with the Live. ![]() I bought an MPC Live so I wouldn't have to learn to use a DAW or play music using a computer.that didn't work. ![]()
